Student Awards Night and Undergraduate Juried Exhibition

The Newcomb Art Department presents the 2014-15 Student Awards Night and Undergraduate Juried Exhibition on Monday, April 27 from 5:00-7:30pm. 

Student Awards Night begins at 5:00pm in Stone Auditorium, followed by Opening Reception for Undergraduate Juried Exhibition at 6:00pm in the Carroll Gallery. 

Walkthrough with juror Dr. Andrea Andersson, Chief Curator of Visual Arts at the Contemporary Arts Center, begins at 6:00pm.

Exhibition will be on view from April 27-May 1, 2015. Carroll Gallery hours: Monday-Friday 9am - 4pm.

Tulane/Newcomb Glass Art Exhibition at Longue Vue

Join Longue Vue House and Gardens for the Tulane/Newcomb Glass Art exhibition opening reception, featuring works from professors, graduate students and former students of the Tulane/Newcomb glass art program. Guests will explore a varied collection of sculptures made partially or wholly of glass.

Featured artists: Daniel Alley, Gene Koss, Weston Lambert, Andrew Ledford, Devon Murphy, Jeffrey Stenbom, Francine Stock and Lisa Tahir.

Teresa Cole exhibits in 'Pulp Fictions' at the CAC


Teresa Cole featured in Contemporary American Print Makers

Ellsworth Woodward Professor Teresa Cole is featured in Contemporary American Print Makers, a collection of work by more than seventy print-based artists and thirty print shops from across the United States whose work embraces the history and techniques of traditional printmaking while pushing the bounds of new print media. Traditional techniques of work featured include: lithography, intaglio, screenprint, and relief. While new techniques include; installation based, digital, fiber and other forms of new print media. Contemporary American Print Makers features artists of all career levels, from emerging to professionals and professors and the print shops featured include shops who publish editions for high caliber artists as well as cooperative and community based shops from around the country.

Selling the Slave Trade: a lecture by Dr. Maurie McInnis

"Selling the Slave Trade," a lecture by Dr. Maurie McInnis, Professor of American Art and Material Culture, University of Virginia will take place in Stone Auditorium, room 210 of the Woldenberg Art Center on Tuesday April 14 at 6:00pm.

This lecture is organized and hosted by the Tulane University School of Liberal Arts' Newcomb Art Department and History Department and sponsored by the New Orleans Center for the Gulf South and the William L. Duren '26 Professorship Program.
